      Planting Guide

Open-pollinated. Tasty white long roots with sweet flavor; harvest after frost; a standard in all fall gardens. A popular variety in the 1820’s with very long roots. HEIRLOOM. Mild, white flesh is fine-grained. This parsnip develops a sweet, nutty flavor after frost. Mature roots are 12″ long and 3″ thick. Does best in deeply prepared soil. Special Instructions: Parsnips are sweetest if you wait to harvest until after a light frost. Continue harvesting until ground is frozen. Mulch for extra protection. Try roasting for a delicate, sweet earthy.
