      Heirloom Queen Anne Black Eyed Cowpea or Southern Pea gives heavy yields of 7″ – 9″ long pods. The slender pods contain 8 to 12 white peas with a black eye. Compact plants reach 26″ tall. Heirloom Queen Anne Blackeye CowPea do well in a variety of climates. They handle cooler temperatures well and are a good choice for the Northern United States. CowPea are part of a traditional Southern meal. 68 Days until harvest. Often called Butterpeas, Field Peas, Southern Peas and Crowder Peas, Cowpeas are a great crop for a sustainable lifestyle because they are easy to grow and abundant producers. Cowpeas also are known for their long term storage ability. Great for shelling, canning, and freezing. Special Instructions: Cowpeas can be harvested at approximately 60 days after germination, or as a dry bean after about 90 days.
