Heirloom. Open-pollinated. Eye-catching red root with white tips. Excellent eating quality. A French classic. White flesh is crisp and mildly pungent when young. Fast and easy to grow. Best planted in cool weather in a sunny location. Harvest regularly or they may become pithy. Tops are great feed for rabbits and chickens. Try them raw with butter and salt, or butter-poached with sourdough bread and fresh herbs.
